About Us

The Chokling Tersar Foundation is a California-registered religious nonprofit corporation whose purpose is to preserve and propagate the sacred texts and practices of the Chokling Tersar lineage of Tibetan Buddhism and related religious practices and teachings.

Registered by the California Secretary of State as Entity 6214319, the Foundation is organized and operated exclusively for religious purposes within the meaning of Internal Revenue Code section 501(c)(3). The Chokling Tersar Foundation is currently under the fiscal sponsorship of the Mahakaruna Foundation, the long-running charitable nonprofit established by the late His Eminence Chagdud Tulku Rinpoche. As such, all donations made to the Chokling Tersar Foundation site are processed by the Mahakaruna Foundation and are fully tax-deductible.
