Neten Chokling Rinpoche
The present Neten Chokling was born in Bhutan in 1973. After having been recognized by the XVIth Karmapa as the reincarnation of the IIIrd Neten Chokling, he was brought down to India by His Holiness Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, who would go on to become his root guru. He was around five years old on his arrival in India at his predecessor’s seat, Pema Ewam Tenchog Gyurmed Ling Monastery in Bir, Himachal Pradesh.
At the age of 17, His Eminence Chokling Rinpoché made the decision to go and serve H. H. Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche in Bhutan. He was one of the many who were part of H. H. Khyentse Rinpoche’s entourage until the passing away of H. H. Khyentse Rinpoche. He considers the time he spent with His Holiness to be the most important phase of his life.

Having studied closely under the guidance of his root guru H. H. Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, he has also received teachings and transmissions from other great luminaries like Nyoshul Khen Rinpoche, Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche among other great masters of his tradition.
Rinpoche feels that the medium of film is an effective outlet through which the teachings of the Buddha and the essence of the Dharma can be communicated. He made the film Milarepa and the documentary Brilliant Moon- Glimpses of Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche.
