White Amitayus

Dear sangha,

This February in Bir, India the Chokling Gompa will be conducting its annual White Amitayus Drubchen. Whether you are able to attend in person or not, we encourage people to consider making an offering towards the Drupchen ceremony, whether in the form of Tsog, Butterlamps, or for the Benefit of the Deceased Ritual.

This practice of White Amitayus has the power to increase a practioner’s wisdom and longevity. From the Samye Institute:

“The great tertön, Chokgyur Lingpa discovered this sādhana practice of the sambhoghakāya White Amitāyus, the Lord of Longevity, in Kham. Practicing Tsekar brings forth auspicious circumstances for the two-fold attainment of longevity and primordial wisdom.

The practice focuses on the sambhogakāya form of White Amitāyus because longevity allows more time and opportunity to practice the Dharma. Therefore, participants need to pay special attention to their motivation and should form the resolve and intention to practice in order to achieve the ultimate goal of liberation and enlightenment for all beings.”

Tsog and Butterlamp offerings made with pure motivation during a Drupchen are a potent way to accumulate merit and put positive intentions into the world and can bring immense benefit to sentient beings. Making offerings to a Ceremony for the Deceased is an extremely powerful way of accumulating merit, and brings about immense benefit for the deceased. Whether they passed recently or many years ago, these ceremonies have the power to lead the deceased's mind streams to freedom from lower rebirths and the ultimate attainment of Buddhahood.

We invite you to make an offering towards the White Amitayus Drupchen. Please include the names of the deceased you would like to have prayed for, if you make an offering to the Ceremony to Benefit the Deceased. This will connect the deceased with the blessings of Amitayus and be of enormous benefit. To make an offering click one of the links below.
